Print Wall Plate on angle with back corner and edge of front plate
This allows printing without any supports.
You can also print the wall plate flat on its back, using supports for the overhanging plate. This may be easier for your printer to achieve, but will take more space, time, and filament.
Disassemble Stream Deck Mini
WARNING! Unlike other models of Stream Deck, disassembling the Mini requires either breaking the original Steam Deck case, or cutting the USB cable and soldering on a new connector. This is not easily reversible.
Remove Front Cover. There are tabs holding it on along the top and bottom of the case. They can be released with a pry tool.
Slowly and gently pull button module out of rear case. The USB cable is still running through the back of the case. It can be pulled forward but use caution.
Remove cable from rear of case. This can be done either by breaking the rear case in order to free the cable or by snipping the USB cable. If you cut the USB cable. Make sure you leave at least 6" from the button module.
If you cut the USB cable, solder on new connector 6" from button module.
Assemble Electronics
Attach Qty 4- 9mm long 2.5mm standoffs to top of POE Hat
Remove Qty 4- 4mm long 2.5mm standoffs from the bottom of the POE hat and replace them with 2.5mm screws. (It is helpful to remove then replace 1 or 2 at a time, rather than removing all 4 and having to line everything up again to put the screws in)
Use the 4mm standoffs you just removed to attach the Rasperry Pi Zero 2 W to the top of the POE Hat.
Assemble Orbit Panel
Line up the ports on the electronics assembly with ports in the Orbit Panel Wall Plate.
Slide the assembled Pi and Hat into Orit Panel Wall Plate.
Use Qty 4- 2.5mm screws to attach electronics assembly to Orbit Panel Wall Plate
Feed USB cable attached to button module through opening, from front of wallplate to rear
Insert button module into Orbit Panel Wall Plate. It is not symmetrical. Make sure the USB cable is on the same side as its hole in the wall plate, and that buttons are centered.
Connect USB cable cable to USB port on back of Orbit Panel Wall Plate. (optional: using right angle adapter)
